Pastel demo of David

David stepped up to the plate, when I asked if he would be prepared to sit for me during this demo for the Thorpe art group this morning. He thought he was coming along to watch until I pounced:-) I think you will agree he has a great face, not only that, he is a lovely man, which helped to make the whole experience, a very pleasurable one! These are the photographs of the demo taken at each model break:

    1. Ah, you're very kind Liz, thank you! I've just done a pastel of the Thames at Richmond, but my pastels are much more like oils than yours. Have a look at my Blog at http://peter-peterbarkerpaintings.blogspot.co.uk in about half an hour. I love your mark-making! Are you related at all to Ray?

    2. I took a look at your blog and signed up to follow :-) 'Brass monkeys' sounds fun, and I notice you paint out with Haidee (a force to be reckoned with). I enjoyed seeing the 'stages' on your website, the degree of finish you get is astounding!

    3. Thanks Liz - I think my level of finish is too much sometimes - would much prefer to be looser, but find it very hard! Funnily enough, I signed up to your Blog ages ago, but never get an email alert (?) Yes, Haidee's a good mate of mine and we're painting out together with a few other members of the UK Plein Aor Society next Wed at Brancaster Staithe - will be fun if this weather keeps up, ugh!

  3. You are an amazing painter. I think the government should hire you to paint President Obama's portrait. There is no one better than you.
