Anemonies in Glass Jar
I have to confess to liking this one. It is not often an artist says
this; the artist's curse is that they only see fault in their own work.
This one seemed to go together in a more pleasing way than usual which
is why I held on to it for the Royal Oil Painters Institute annual
exhibition which opens tomorrow at the Mall Galleries in London.

Olive oil, capers and tomatoes

Champagne and Oysters
This is a new departure for me as it is a commissioned still-life. A
birthday present for a 60th birthday to someone who clearly has become
accustomed to the finer things life has to offer. You know who you are
;-) Belated birthday wishes!

Balsamic with Tomatoes
I found this little carafe on e-bay and just loved it! I've done a
couple of paintings on this theme - sadly the tomatoes are not home
grown, but who knows, next year when we are settled we may have a garden
again! :-)

This is another painting that was shown at the Mandell's Gallery show. Fortunately for me it resulted in a sale. :-) Although my posts have been sporadic at best, I have been busy at work. As many of you know will be aware, our life has been fairly chaotc over the past 17 months with the re-build of our house after the fire in february 2014. We are now about eight weeks off completion and an agreed move in date. The positive side to all of this is that the fire has opened the opportunity for us to extend my studio. Consequently, it has been difficult to post here on a regular basis (i.e. I have to elbow my husband off his laptop as I have no internet connection). I do have a lot of new work to share with you, so thanks for holding on in there!

Blue and White Carafe
This carafe is such a hardworker for me and features in quite a few of
my still-life paintings. I so enjoy painting it.... I'm pleased to say
this pastel sold at my recent show at Mandell's gallery, Norwich.
Highly Commended
I am delighted to learn that 'Builder's Break received a 'Highly commended' at the Armed Forces Art Society, Mall Galleries, London. :-)

Earl Grey Tea
Earl Grey was one of the paintings in my solo show at Mandell's Gallery in March this year. It remains unsold but it is still available through Mandell's gallery in Norwich.
I am delighted to have these three contributions in the current edition of 'Artists and Illustrators' magazine :-)
Despite my absence from the blog I have been busy.. (lots to show) 17 months after our house fire we are still busy with the re-build, which means I do not always have access to the computer to upload my images or write my pieces. The studio is being in the process of being extended and the contents: easels, plan chest etc are all under tarpaulin. I will have a brilliant space in which to work once everything is sorted but patience is astill the order of the day!

Lemon Tea
This little painting was in my recent show at Mandell's gallery, Norwich. The cup and saucer were part of the crockery set in the holiday let we have been renting whilst our house is being re-built. The couple who rented to us came along to the PV and joked about how many of their bits and bobs were used in my paintings :-)

Broken Heart
It is Valentine's day and I am aware that a broken heart is not in keeping with the sentiment... but my little cat climbed onto my set up and did her worse... just like life eh?

Bell flowers
It has been a while since I last uploaded a painting, but I have not been idle! It has been a busy time working towards my show at Mandells Gallery in Norwich and the day to day existence of re-building our home after the fire almost a year ago! I share this computer with my husband who spends most of his time project managing the build, hence things have had to slip somewhat.... lots of work to show you if I can nudge him out of the way!
